“Movement and physicality that is so specific and so rich with experience that even the tiniest and most ordinary, everyday behavior becomes utterly intriguing.”

Performers Lauren Katz and Joey Slotnick, with director Jim Dennen, have been collaborators for over 30 years. As members of the influential Chicago-based company ED, their pioneering work in improvised theatre has been seen at Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, Victory Gardens, Organic Theatre, Remains Theatre, and in festivals across the U.S. and abroad. Their work is nationally recognized as foundational in the emergence of what is now commonly known as “Longform” improvisation. Rather than taking the expected, deliberately comedic form, their improvisational work has been described by American Theatre as rooted in the tradition of experimental theatre, “a kind of walking meditation, a process of discovery… consistently brilliant… funny and otherwise.”
“excellent performers ... creating subtle, funny, intelligent work.”
